French Marseilles Gold Beads necklace, 19.7”, 18K

This stunning French Marseilles necklace features graduated, smooth 18K gold beads in a rich yellow hue. The Marseilles gold bead necklace, also known as "Les Boules de Marseille," is a traditional piece of jewelry from the Provence region in France, particularly popular in Marseille. It's traditional to gift a baby girl her first gold bead at birth, adding more for each life milestone, creating a cherished keepsake over time.
 
On this one the beads are linked and soldered together making it sturdy and ready to take on the next decade. The center bead is appx 7mm. The c-clasp is. A newer replacement, marked 750 for 18K. Excellent handmade craftsmanship.
