Antique Silver Niello matchbox

How lovely is this old match box? Beautifully crafted in the old technique Niello that is an inlay of black silver in different patterns, here it’s a checkerboard pattern.
 
The surface is smooth and silky with lots of patina, dark areas and bumps. This one has been in use daily for many, many years. Comes with the original matches!
 
We can add a silver or a gold bail if you'd like to use it as a pendant. Please be aware that Niello can contain lead so it’s not suited for pills or other stuff you’d consume.
