This edition is a radiant, rectangle, bi-color, and rubies. The facetted rays on the background make it super sparkly and lively. The plus sign is white gold and the minus is rubies. Signed and with a full set of French hallmarks.

About the motive: The plus and the minus sign references the famous French poem "Eternal Song" by Rosemonde Gérard. The plus sign, set with tiny diamonds, symbolizes the line: “more (than yesterday), and the minus sign, set with rubies, symbolizes the line: “less (than tomorrow)”.
 
“For, you see, each day
I love you more,
today more than yesterday
and less than tomorrow.”
 
This beautiful passage, written by Rosemonde Gerard in 1889, is from her poem for her husband celebrating their love. The French Jeweler Alphonse Augis immortalized the poem by incorporating it into his "Medallion of Love" design in 1907, which he continued to elaborate on throughout the century. Original Augis pieces are highly sought-after collectibles today.
